The building was constructed between 1859 and 1865; the uppermost part of the front facade has been displayed earlier, so you can read further details there. The reliefs of the middle section are works by Károly Alexy, they were completed when the building was ready, but the six white stone sculptures at the bottom of the large glass windows (the left one is covered by a pine tree on this) were finished and placed in the 1880s.
